Top Engineering Colleges In Uttar Pradesh (UP)

After arguing on the authenticity of India today and Times of India ranking of engineering colleges it was really necessary to give students an alternative ranking based on some absolute values on which everyone can agree. There are always few exceptions who don’t want to agree on anything, I am leaving out that sample. This list would definitely helpful for Non GATE M.Tech admissions and students looking for B.Tech admissions.

Most of the engineering colleges in UP are affiliated to UPTU now GBTU (Gautam Buddh Technical university). GBTU conducts a common admission test (SEE) on state level for admission into Engineering courses in affiliated and private colleges. I considered GBTU-SEE opening and closing ranks of 2009 for making a list of top engineering colleges in UP. Top ten colleges were easy to decide because the trend was very clear after that it was really difficult to compare colleges.

I considered Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering opening and closing ranks ranking Engineering colleges. Incase of conflict we also considered Electrical Engineering opening and closing ranks. The reason for considering CSE and ECE is that these branches are found in almost all engineering colleges.

Top Engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh

Thanks to the Andhra Pradesh central counseling authority for engineering admission for sharing previous year department wise last ranks of every engineering college in EAMCET. This helped me a lot to make Ranking of Engineering colleges in AP, Top Engineering colleges in Hyderabad and surrounding areas, and top engineering colleges for girls in Andhra Pradesh.

The last rank list of engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh does not include Minority colleges as they have their own separate counseling. I requested different colleges for last ranks and will add a list as soon as receive that data. Though, Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET) Banjarahills is not added to list, it comes under top 15 colleges in AP. G Naraynamma Institute of Technology and Science is also missing as its exclusive for girls, this colleges come under 20 if added with general ranking. These two colleges are among best colleges in AP but treated specially because of their status.

I considered PTU opening and closing ranks in 2009 for making a list of top engineering colleges in UP. I was very diverse and most of the colleges were very close to each other.

I considered Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering opening and closing ranks ranking Engineering colleges. Examinations Board conducts a common admission test (WBJEE) on state level for admission into Engineering and medical courses. I considered WBJEE opening and closing ranks in 2008 for making a list of top engineering colleges in West Bengal. Ranking of engineering colleges in West Bengal was not very difficult as the choice of student was very clear and easy to decide the position of engineering colleges and universities in the state.
