Delhi Technical University which is otherwise called as Delhi College of Engineering is going to start its Admission Procedure for the Academic Year 2011-12 from June 7^th 2011. Vice Chancellor P.B. Sharma DTU Admission procedure has been divided into three stages and the DTU Admissions will be completed by July 26^th. Classes for the New Academic Year 2011-12 will begins from August 2^nd.

DTU Vice Chancellor P.B. Sharma said that Admissions will be based totally on Online system. Manual Process of DTU Admissions will not be there. Aspirants should only Register and participate in online Registration Process. DTU admissions will be done on the basis of the rank obtained in AIEEE-2011 and subject to a student clearing his/ her class XII or BSc (General) or BSc (H)examination with minimum 60% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics. A candidate must additionally have passed English as a subject of study.

DTU First phase Admissions : DTU First phase Admissions stats form June 7^th to June 15^th. Aspirants should Register online and they have to pay the Application Fee. User id and Password will be allotted to students who have paid their Application Fee.

DTU Second Phase Admissions : DTU First phase Admissions stats form June 23^rd to June 29^th Eligible students will be allowed to select their Subjects. They can also change their choice till June 29^th.

DTU Final Phase Admissions : DTU Final Phase is allotment of seats for the Aspirants. Final list of students who are eligible will be kept in DTU official Website in the First week of July. Short listed students should submit their documents, Fee and can secure their admission during the allotted day.

At the undergraduate level, DTU offers 15 BTech programs with a total intake of 1,188 seats of which 85% seats are reserved for candidates from Delhi. The university will reserve one seat in each of the BTech programs over the sanctioned intake, for a single girl child in the family to be filled on merit.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF MERIT LIST FOR THE FIRST ROUND OF COUNSELLING FOR ADMISSION TO 2011 BATCH OF B Tech (ICT)

Merit Lists for the first round of counselling have been announced. There are two merit lists as given below.

The first merit list consists of the candidates who have studied and passed their qualifying examination (ie 12th standard or equivalent) from the schools located outside the Gujarat State. Fifty percent of the seats will be filled from this list.
The second merit list consists of the candidates who have studied and passed their qualifying examination (ie 12th standard or equivalent) from the schools located in the Gujarat State. Fifty percent of the seats will be filled from this list.

The candidates who have qualified in these merit lists for the first round have been invited for counselling at DA-IICT Campus, Gandhinagar, as per the Schedule given below:

Admission criteria
Admission against 75% seats will be made on the basis of merit of AIEEE rank through On-line Counselling by Haryana State Counselling Society and the remaining 25% seats (including 15% seats if any, for children/ wards of NRI’s) will be filled up by the Management as per policy of State Govt.

Lateral entry in B.Tech II year for following courses :

Computer Sc. & Engg.
Electronics & Comm. Engg.
Mechanical Engineering
Civil Engineering

Eligibility criteria:

Should have passed Diploma examination from a recognized Board/University; with at least 50% marks (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering /Technology.
Should have passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 50% marks (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject.
Provided that in the case of students belonging to B.Sc. stream, they shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawings and Engineering Mechanics of the first year engineering program along with the second year subjects.
Provided further that the students belonging to B.Sc. stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream.
Provided further that students, who have passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology from an AICTE approved institutions or B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, shall also be eligible for admission to the first year Engineering Degree courses subject to vacancies in the first year class in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted. However, the admissions shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria as mentioned in a, b, c, d & e above.

Application Procedure:

The admission form can be obtained from the Administrative Office of the respective University/Institute on a payment of Rs. 750/-. Those who want the Admission Form by post should send DD of Rs. 800/- in favour of the concerned University/Institute. The Admission Form can also be downloaded from the website of the concerned University/Institute. However, such candidates will have to enclose a DD of Rs.750/- with the downloaded Admission Form.

In case of refund of Fee admissible under the rules, a deduction of Fee will be made as under:

Within 15 days of Rs.1000/-Admission but before 25-9-2011
After 15 days Proportionate up to 25-9-2011 amount of Fee.
After 25-9-2011 No Refund.

Eligibility Criteria for SASTRA University 2011 :

A pass in the +2 examination with Mathematics & Physics as compulsory subjects with either Chemistry / Bio-Technology /Computer Science / Biology and recognized by any State Board / Central Board or any other accepted by SASTRA as equivalent to 10+2 examination, with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Maths, Physics and Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology obtained in a single sitting. This eligibility criteria is prescribed by AICTE for all Engineering programmes in India. A student without Maths or Physics in +2 will not be considered for admission to B.Tech. programmes.
Students with diploma in Engineering / Technology are eligible for direct admission to the second year of the relevant B.Tech.
Programme Age limit: Cannot be more than 19 years as on July 1, 2011

Admission to 70 % seats in B.Tech programmes will be based on qualifying examination marks(+2). Remaining 30 % seats will be filled by SASTRA based onAIEEE 2011 ranks*.

Final allotment of seats is made on the basis of the merit. Candidates with higher Orissa JEE score would be given a choice of the college and program to choose from.
